For Professionals
ASM Certified Practitioner
The ASM-CP credential confirms that a professional has completed ASM training and assessment, and delivers the Method according to its standards.
Eligibility
Who may apply
ASM accepts applications from all countries. Applicants hold a current license or registration in a health or mental health profession in their country of practice, and work, or intend to work, with men's sexual health. Eligible professions include physiotherapy, sex therapy, psychology, nursing and medicine. Other professions are considered individually.
Scope
What the credential covers
- Administration of the ASM assessment and interpretation of its result.
- Guidance of clients through the phases of the Method, in the defined sequence.
- Use of the designation "ASM Certified Practitioner" and of the credential number.
- Listing by name in the ASM public registry.
Practitioners work within the scope of their own professional license. The credential is not a license to practice and does not extend that scope.
Process
From application to registry
- Application. Submission of professional details and license information.
- Training. Completion of ASM professional training in the Method.
- Assessment. Demonstration of competence in the assessment and the phases of the Method.
- Registry listing. Issue of the credential and listing in the public registry.
Credentials are renewed periodically. Renewal requirements will be published with the Standards of Practice. Dates, format and fees for the inaugural cohort will be announced on this site.
